I just returned from a business trip in Singapore. During my trip, I read this great article on my return to the states.
This article states that Singaporean value honesty the most. The article goes on to say:
“In a survey of 503 people, respondents were asked to rate 20 values according to how important each was to them. At the top, after honesty, came kindness, gratitude, fairness, forgiveness and empathy, in that order” from an online article in the Strait Times.
As a Christian we seek the truth and we know that the truth comes from the Bible. The Bible says that you will know the truth and the truth will make you free (John 8:32). So for honesty to be at the top of the list for the country of Singapore is real exciting to hear about.
The other values relate to how you treat others. In the bible it states that we should love our neighbor as our self. So kindness, gratitute, fairness, forgiveness and empathy relate to how we treat others. Isn’t it intereting that these are top values.
What do you value the most?
