The Name of Jesus: Final Authority

Mark 16:17, 19 (King James Version)
By Carolyn Bridges
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Jesus gave all believers the right to use His Name.  When we pray, we are to go to the Father in the Name of Jesus.  He specifically outlined what would happen when we use His Name.  You see, we are not in this world alone.  When sudden danger strikes, we can take charge of the situation by using the Name of Jesus.
You will see that Paul did just that as you read Acts28:3-6.  As he was gathering sticks for a fire suddenly a venomous snake came out and bit him.  The people expected him to fall dead, but he shook it off in the name of Jesus.
The trials of life hit suddenly at times. Suddenly you are hit with an unexpected bill.  Suddenly there is a bad doctor’s report.  Suddenly your child has left home.  That is when you can take the name of Jesus and use it in faith.
There is a way to be prepared for sudden trials.  As you daily exalt the Name of Jesus in your prayer time before God, you will develop faith in that name (Psalm 34:3).  You can take authority over all that belongs to you – those in your household — and in Jesus’ name claim God’s protection over them.  Then suddenly God will come through with the answer to your prayer.  Suddenly, healing begins to progress.  Suddenly, the wisdom of God shows up to show you how to pay the bill. Suddenly the child comes home.
As you lift up the name of Jesus, the name of Jesus will lift you up.  Remember that God only works through His Word.  If His Word says that you must use the name of Jesus, then that is what will work.  You can use that name, that wonderful name, in faith and full confidence that your prayers shall come to pass.
You have authority in the name of Jesus.  Learn about that name.  Study the Scripture concerning that name.  Meditate on those Scriptures and allow it to become a part of you.  Then you will see victory at all times.

Have a great day in the Lord.
