20 My son, give attention to my words;
Incline your ear to my sayings.21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart;
22 For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.
Attend to God’s word. When someone asks you to attend to something, that means to keep your eye on it. Pay attention to it. Make sure that it doesn’t leave your sight. That is what you do with the word of God. The word ‘incline’ means to cause to yield (Strong’s Concordance). Yield to the word of God or do what it says. Keep your eyes on it. Pay attention to it.
While attending to the word of God, imagine having the thing you are asking God for. If it’s healing, imagine yourself healed. Make plans accordingly. Don’t make plans to be sick. Plan for healthy days and long life.
Over the years I have had my share of attacks of sickness and disease. I was always sick as a child, so quite naturally I thought sickness is a way of life. I used to think that I am supposed to get a cold at least once a year, and some other kind of sickness from time to time. Then I began meditating on the word of God. According to the Scriptures sickness and disease is not in the plans for Christian. I do not have a cold once a year. I steer clear of sickness and disease by attending to the word of God.
Therefore, sickness is not synonomous with middle age, old age or any age. Not that I’m old, but in some people’s eyes over 50 is old. I have had attacks of tumors, danger during child birth, arthritis , as well as minor aches and pains. Through it all, God has healed me every time. I refuse to allow sickness to have dominion over me. I see myself a vibrant healthy woman working with God each day He gives me.
When the symptoms are small, meditate on the word that promises you the answer. If the symptoms are large, meditate on the word that promises you the answer. See yourself with the answer and plan accordingly. If you can’t see victory, meditate in the word more until you do. Get the word before your eyes and keep it there, because your life is sustained by the word of God.
