For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, “Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Mark 11:23
Let every thought think what the word says. Whenever a thought arises that is not scripture, say what the scripture says about what you’ve prayed for. Then remind yourself of the scripture you are standing on by saying it out loud. Say it loud to confirm in your own heart that what the Bible says is the way it is with you.
James 4:7 says: Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Doubt is of the devil. Resist it.
Thinking defeat produces images of defeat in your mind, just as thinking victory thoughts produces victorious images in your mind. Instead of buying into the pain or lack, continue saying what the scripture says and you will begin to see yourself with your desire. Don’t let feelings move you. Only be moved by the word of God.
Faith is relying of God who cannot fail. Faith is trusting in God who will never leave you disappointed.
When my son was about 6 or 7 years old, he awoke in the middle of the night with an asthma attack. He had been battling this for a few years. Every time he had an attack I would rush him to the emergency ward for immediate care. Asthma patients required immediate care to get their breathing clear. But this night was different.
This night I drew from the word of God that was in my heart, particularly, “…a merry heart doeth good like a medicine.” (Proverbs 17:22) I took him from his bed and held him in my lap and we’d sing together. I remember that he looked so pitiful, but he tried to sing too. Mind you time is usually the issue here. He has to begin breathing easy or else other serious complications can occur. I know, because I had asthma when I was a child. This night, however, I had no doubt that Jesus is His healer.
I began to say what the word said. “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” I encouraged him to praise the Lord. I began to praise the Lord, and before I knew it, 20 minutes couldn’t have passed when he was fast asleep breathing easy.
Although doubt tried to grip me, I just wanted to praise the Lord and lean on what His word said. This was not a test to see if God’s word would work. I would never do that with any of my children. I was simply lead in my heart to say, let everything that has breath praise the Lord, and lead to sing, a merry heart does good like a medicine. I trusted the Lord and He healed my son just as He promised.
Philippians 4:8 says, Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy–meditate on these things.
