Matthew 7:7, 8 (Memory and Meditation)
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”
Clearly God is God and He knows everything. Jesus even said in Matthew 6:8 “…Your Father knoweth what things you have need of before you ask him.” Then in the very next chapter Jesus tells us to ask. We must realize that just because God knows doesn’t mean He’s just going to give us what we want. He wants us to ask for His help.
One may not think that is unacceptable. However, we must realize that God is showing us through the Bible how He operates. We must follow His way of doing things, and not what we think it should be. If God says to ask, then we ask. Then it will be true in our lives what is said in John 8:31-32: “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Prayer: Father, in the Name of Jesus, I thank you that the eyes of my understanding of your Word are flooded with light that I may know clearly what you have called me to do. Thank you Father.
