NOW we can apply Mark 11:23-24
You could start it like this, When you please the Lord . . . “What things soever you desire when you pray, believe that you receive them, and ye shall have them.”
What does it mean to believe that you receive them? How do you receive something? You reach out and take it. Someone hands you a book, and you reach out and take it. That’s correct, but the word “receive” in this verse means something more.
It means to take or to seize. It means to take with much force; to seize. C. Nuzum says it this way, “take with much force. seize with a grip that will not be shaken off…”
Why is it that you have to be so forceful about it? It is because there is someone out there that doesn’t want you to have it. That someone is the devil. But 1 Peter 5:8-9 says, “Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.
That means you have to hold on to your blessing like a bulldog holds onto a bone. Most dogs don’t like it when you take away their bone. They will growl at you. By no means am I calling you a dog. I’m saying you have to be aggressive about holding onto your blessing, because it is the devil that is trying to take it from you. Don’t let him. Seize it with a grip that cannot be shaken off. When you do, God will see to it that you get and keep your blessing.
You can depend on God. I didn’t say you can depend on your friend, or your teacher, or some other person. I said that you can depend on God. He’s already done His part, so there’s no need to wait on Him any longer. He’s waiting on you. When you do your part, you witness the blessing, the miracle, the healing.
