Miracle on the Hudson: A Testament to Divine Intervention and the Power of Prayer

Reflecting back on a significant event, I vividly recall the day when the US Airways Airbus A320 executed a miraculous crash landing in the Hudson River after its departure from New York's LaGuardia Airport. The date was January 15, 2009, and at that time, I found myself nestled in our office on the 59th street in New York. This was an event of great significance, which I firmly attribute to divine intervention and a manifestation of the miraculous work of God the Father—an element I strive to emphasize in this reflection.

After wrapping up a teaching session on that fateful day, I settled down in a nearby restaurant to sift through my emails and keep up with global affairs on my laptop. Suddenly, a news headline captured my attention, announcing the unbelievable incident. It was a surreal sight, something profoundly incredible. That night, the world's attention was singularly focused on the extraordinary landing of the aircraft, a miraculous event that resulted in the rescue of about 155 precious lives.

Was this incident merely an accident, or was it a product of good luck? As a devout Christian, I don't subscribe to the concept of luck. My faith lies firmly in God the Father. For me, this miraculous occurrence was a clear demonstration of His benevolence and mercy. Just a day before this incident, on January 14, 2009, a congregation had assembled near Madison Square Gardens at Pastor Creflo Dollars Church, which was a stone's throw away from the scene of the incident. The dedicated members of World Changer's Ministries offered their prayers to God the Father for themselves, their city, their country, and the entire world. Surely, it cannot be a coincidence that prayers bring about changes!

We may never discern the specific prayer God the Father answered that day, or who it was that prayed for the passengers aboard the plane. However, the traces of divine intervention and the great grace of God the Father are indisputably evident.

As a devout believer in God the Father and the power of prayer, let us collectively express our gratitude to Him for the lives saved on that fateful day. Let's bestow upon Him the praise for the miracle witnessed. Moreover, let's not forget to express our thankfulness for His protection over us and our loved ones, in instances both known and unknown.

His workings in our lives are constant and often operate in ways we may not fully comprehend. As we stand just one day away from celebrating Independence Day, July 4, 2023, let us give thanks to God the Father, who ceaselessly supports us in times of need.
