Day 9
Our General Welfare
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does. James 1:5-8 (NIV)
To the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness:
We ask for Your guidance in how to best promote the general welfare of our citizens, that we may enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
We ask for ways to provide good opportunities for every citizen, thereby allowing them to live in a manner that is satisfying to you and to themselves, to know the truth of Your word so that the word can make them free, and to pursue happiness which comes from wisdom from heaven; for your word says in Proverbs 3:13, “”Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.”
Therefore, we know that it is wise to be people that love one another. We declare that we, as a nation, love without hypocrisy. We hate evil and cleave to that which is good. We are a nation that is kindly affectionate toward one another, honoring one another. We are not lazy, but fervent in spirit as we serve the Lord. We rejoice in hope, we are patient in tribulation and continue always in prayer, because we are a praying nation.
Lastly, we pray for an awakening in the United States of America. Awake believers to pray, that we may continue to be a nation that’s free to pursue life as You would have it.
In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
