Day 28 - 31 Days of Prayer, International Relations

Day 28

International Relations

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased. Proverbs 9:10-11

We pray to the God and Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ:

Our prayer for the president, his appointees, and all other elected officials with reference to international relations, that the eyes of their heart be flooded with light that they may know the hope to which God has called them, and that they may know the hope for this nation.  We ask You, Father, to surround them with people who have skillful and godly wisdom to lead them in the way this nation should go.

Also, for those Christian leaders in government, may You grant them out of the rich treasury of Your glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the Holy Spirit Himself indwelling their innermost being and personality. May Christ through their faith actually dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in their hearts! May they be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love, That they may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints the experience of that love, and to know what is the breadth, length, height, and depth of it.
We pray that they may really come to know (practically, through experience for themselves) the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge without experience; that they may be filled through all their being unto all the fullness of God.  Further, we pray that they may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself!

Therefore, may they not be wise in their own eyes, but they fear You and lean to Your understanding concerning international relations.  In all their ways they acknowledge You, and You direct their paths.
Now to Him Who, by the power that is at work within us, is able to carry out His purpose for the United States of America and do superabundantly, far over and above all that we dare ask or think, infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams--To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.
