Day 20, 31 Days of Prayer, The American Way of Life

Day 20

The American Way of Life

To the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ:

We pray for the restoration of the American family and way of life today.  Therefore, we speak these words over ourselves and all the families across the United States of America so that the communication of our faith may be effective as we acknowledge every good thing that is in us in Christ Jesus.

We pray that:
Christians everywhere, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; we bear with one another, and forgive one another if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave us, so we also do. But above all these things we put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also we were called in one body; and we are thankful. The word of Christ dwells in us richly in all wisdom, as we teach and admonish one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in our hearts to the Lord. And whatever we do in word or deed, we do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

We further pray about the Christian family that
The wives submit to their own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
The husbands love their wives and are not bitter toward them.
Children obey their parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.
The Fathers do not incite their children to anger, lest they become discouraged.
Employees obey in all things their employers on their jobs, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God.
Employers do not withhold good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of their hand to do it.

And whatever we do, we do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord we will receive the reward of the inheritance; for we serve the Lord Christ. But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.
In Jesus wonderful name we pray.  Amen.  So be it.
