Awakening of The Church

To the God and Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ:

Father, you said in your Ephesians 5:14: “…Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.”

We ask for an awakening in the body of Christ. We pray that each person in the body of Christ – the church – would do their part to speak the word of God, for the light is found in the word.  We, the church, live up to our task as responsible citizens of the United States of America.  We, the church, do what is asked of us in Ephesians 5:14 and we awaken from our slumber and apathy and look to Christ Who gives us light.

We thank You Father for continuing to shine the light through preachers and teachers of Your word through churches all over America, through television, internet and print media.  Thank You for continuing to lead believers to speak of the good news of the gospel that provides a constant nudging of believers everywhere, waking them up. Like a mom going into her child’s room to wake him up in the morning for school so that he can learn something, we say to the Church, “Wake up!  Wake up! And Christ shall give you the light you need to see your way clear through this life!”
