Hebrews 12:1-2
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Theme:  Train today so you can win tomorrow. 

Introduction:  Our way of getting the word of God out.  Train today so you can win tomorrow.  Don’t wait till the problem happens.  Plan your strategy.  Fill your heart with the word of God now. When the battle comes, the word comes out to destroy that challenge.

Running a race is an analogy of living a life of faith.
Not a competition with other people.  It’s finishing your course.

I’m going to run a marathon.  I know I have 26 miles to run.  Therefore I train.  I learn to run this race. I learn to overcome challenges.


In life:  I know life has a lot of challenges.  Let me learn today, what I may need tomorrow, to prepare me for the challenges ahead.  What should I be doing today to be prepared for tomorrow, next week, year, five years…
