Do you need to Increase Your Faith?

 Mix the Word With Faith

Hebrews 4:2 (King James Version)

By Carolyn Bridges

For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

Is the word of God benefiting you? Are you better off this year than you were last year? Do you believe you are getting the maximum benefit af God’s word in your life? We should be getting the maximum benefit of the word of God in our life.

The most important thing we must do to maximize on the word of God to word in our life is to mix the word with faith. When it’s mixed with faith, it works. Just as you must mix certain ingredients in order to bake a cake, there are ingredients that must be mixed together to produce your desired result.

The ingredients you need are the word of God, the name of Jesus, and faith. You must have faith in the words you speak in prayer. You must have faith in the name of Jesus. And you must have faith in His blood that cleansed you and made you whole.

The way you mix the word with faith is by never forgetting what it said about your situation. The challenge you are facing can look so bad. I mean, it can look like you’ll never get any more money. Or, it may seem that healing is far from you and the pain is so close. It may look like you’ll never be promoted on your job, or your ministry will never get off the ground. But faith looks at that challenge before you and remembers what the word said about it. Faith looks at the word that says you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. Then faith rests in that word. Faith has patience to see it come to pass.

Faith looks at Philippians 4:19 which says, “But my God shall supply all my need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” And faith rests in that word. Faith decides that it will believe the word of God rather than the circumstances.

Decide today to look at the word of God that relates to your challenge. Yes, the challenge exists, but let faith arise in your heart and speak the word of God. Then rest in the taxi cab of patience and let it ride you on to victory.

Don’t take my word for it; read it in the Bible:
James 1:2-3

Have a great day in the Lord.

If you have not received Jesus as the Lord of your life, you may do so at this time. The Bible says that “Whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)” Just say, Jesus, come into my life. I turn away from my own way, and receive you as my Lord and Savior.

If you pray this prayer, then you are saved. You are now a Christian. The next thing you should do is to tell someone else about your decision to live for God. And then continue to study the word of God. Daily prayer and study in the word of God will help you to grow and become what you were created to be – a success in God.
