That brings us to no other purpose right now than to apply what we’ve learned. It’s time to take what we ask God for. Now that we know that we are asking according to the Scripture, we can confidently go before the Lord in prayer and ask for what we want.
Mark 4:26-28 And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; 27) and should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. 28) For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. 29) But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.
Just as it doesn’t work to plant a seed and leave it alone to grow on its own, it won’t work if you sow the seed of God’s word and never tend to it again. You have to water that seed just as a farmer water’s his seed. Remember the farmer in Mark chapter 4. He goes to bed and gets up and the seed grows. He doesn’t know how. In between the time of him getting up and going to bed, he is tending to his garden. He is watering it and doing whatever else needs to be done in order to have a good crop. So should you water your garden. The way you water it is to affirm with your mouth the thing you prayed for.
Let’s use Healing of a sickness or disease, as an example: We find in the word of God that healing belongs to God’s children as a part of the covenant. That is our firm foundation for faith. There are many references to God’s will for your healing, but let’s just use three:
According to 1 Peter 2:24, by Jesus’ stripes, I am healed.
According to Mark 5:34 and 41-42 My faith has made me whole
According to Luke 6:19 I am healed, because Jesus healed them all – all who came to Him for healing.
So I take my healing by faith.
You take your healing just like someone is trying to keep it from you. Take it. Tell the devil, “You can’t have my healing. Healing is mine. I take it by faith. I’m’ healed, I’m healed, I’m healed. By Jesus’ stripes I’m healed.
No matter how you feel or what the doctor says, or what the tests results are, say that every day, all day long. And you will see the results.
Don’t add anything to it like ‘Okay, now my healing is on the way.’ If the manifestation doesn’t come right away, don’t try to explain. Just continue to speak the word of God, By Jesus’ stripes I’m healed. I’m now worried about how I feel. Faith isn’t a feeling, faith is what causes good feelings to come.
It might even seem to get worse. Keep on saying the word of God. The word is your healing source. By Jesus’ stripes you are healed.
That is what is meant by ‘speak the word.’ Speak the word every time you feel sick. Say, By Jesus’ stripes I’m healed.
Hold fast to it, like a dog with a bone that won’t let it go. Different things come along to tell you it doesn’t work, it didn’t work, it’ won’t work for you this time. But you keep speaking it.
How long? Until you see the change. Then don’t quit there. Keep saying you are healed. Rejoice while you are well to keep sickness off of you.
This is how it works in the Kingdom of God.
