Mark 11:23-24
Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, "Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
The Amplified version of the above scripture says, “…whatever you ask for in prayer, believe – trust and be confident – that it is granted you, and you will [get it].”
There are two kinds of truth. There is natural truth – what we can see, touch, taste, hear and feel. There is also revelation truth – what God’s word says.
It is easy to see natural truth. It is right there before our eyes. Natural truth is the very thing that troubles us. On the other hand, we can’t see revelation truth. It is in the written word of God and in the Spirit of God. The good news is that everything we need is provided for us in the spiritual realm, and it is faith that brings it from the spiritual realm to the natural realm.
When natural truth is different than revelation truth, I choose to walk by revelation truth. I walk by what God’s word says.
Therefore, as the above scripture says, when you pray, believe that you receive it, and you shall have it. You believe that you receive it because you found scripture that says you can have it. When you believe you receive it and act like it’s yours, than you will have it. Why? Because we walk by faith and not by sight. More clearly, we walk by revelation truth and not by natural truth.
Once I had a large credit card bill that I couldn’t seem to pay down, let alone pay off. I decided to find scripture that promises me financial freedom from that bill. Upon finding Philippians 4:19, I began to stand on it. I continued to say God has supplied my need. My need is to pay off this debt. Therefore, since God supplied my need, this debt is paid off.
If you looked at the bill it would have said that I owe a debt. If you looked at my bank account, you would have seen that the debt is not being paid off any time soon. If you looked at my income, there would have been no sign of hope for paying that debt off, or even meet the minimum payment. But if you look at Philippians 4:19, the scripture said that the need is met. So, every time I went to the mail box the devil would say to me, you'll never pay that bill off. It's too big. I would reply, "That's a stupid thing to say, because the word says My God already paid it off. I received it when I prayed. Then I would thank the Father for paying off this debt. When the bill collector called about it, I said after I hung up the phone, Father I thank you for paying off this debt. This went on for several months.
One day I went to the mail box and there was a check with my name on it. It was enough to pay off that debt and at least one other bill. I then said, Devil, I told you that bill was paid! Hallelujah!
All we have to do is always be ready to forgive anyone, decide what we want, ask God for what we want according to the scripture, believe that we receive it, and we shall have it.
Prayer: Father, in the Name of Jesus thank you for showing me clearly how to apply Mark 11:23-25 to my situation. I believe your word, and when I ask for something, I believe I receive it. Thank you for it. Amen.
