All Messed Up?

Perhaps you’ve known God, and there is a time that you know that you accepted Jesus as your Lord. Then, you strayed away from the faith and went your own way and wish to return to your Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ. Here is what you do:

You Ask
You must ask God to forgive you. When you ask Him, He forgives you. He sees you as if you’ve never sinned.
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

He Receives You. Jesus is our advocate pleading our case.

1 John 2:1
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

Now that you know what to do, take a moment to ask your Heavenly Father to forgive you. As the scripture says, He will forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.

In is important to note, however, that just because God has promised to forgive you when you sin doesn’t mean that you should live a life in habitual sin. Your commitment is to repent, go in the opposite direction. Yes, He knows that we are imperfect. But, the Father also knows that He has given us the power to overcome sin, and He expects us to do that.

Hebrews 10:12-13
But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool

Jesus is not only dwelling in you, but He is also seated at the right hand of God expecting us to overcome sin. He has called us world overcomers in this life.

1 John 5:4-5
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

You are a winner. It only concludes that instead of being sin-minded, you can now be victorious-minded. Even though you may not understand it now, keep victory on your mind. Now that you’ve made your change, get on with the life God intended for you to live.
