Day 39 - 40 Days of Prayer - The Common Defense

Day 39
40 Days of Prayer
The Common Defense

To the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Deliver me from my enemies, O God; protect me from those who rise up against me. Psalm 59:1 (NIV)

We ask for your mercy and your divine favor to be shown toward us and that you protect this nation from all evil, hurt, harm or danger.  Thank you for the armed forces from the commander in chief to the soldiers on the ground.  Surround them with angelic assistance as they execute their affirmed duties according to Your will. Thank you for giving them the strength to run through troops and leap over walls; and you give them wisdom from heaven to know what to do in every situation and every circumstance.  Father, it is because of their diligence that we can continue to freely give You praise.

As the psalmist said in Psalm 59:16, I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble. (KJV)

When we go to You, Father, we are protected on every side.  It’s like going into Your strong tower.  When we are in Your house no one or nothing can harm us. We know that is true because of what Your word says in Luke 10:19, Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.  By your power we can run through a troop and leap over walls, because in you, our battle cry is victory! Victory! Victory!

You are our God, and You are our defense!

Amen! So be it!
