28 Day Challenge - Day 21, Chase After God

28 Day Challenge

Day 21

Chase After God

Day 21 of the 28 Day Challenge tells us to race to our place.  We can be so consumed with the business of running our lives in this day and age. We have to be at work on time and don’t want to disappoint our boss. We have to be at school on time and don’t want to disappoint our teacher or counselor. We have to be at our friend’s event on time, and don’t want to disappoint them.  We chase after all these things partly to please someone else, or to make money, or to get an education.  In that chase, we tend to forget about God.  In all the hustle, we sometimes neglect to pray before we act.  Or we tell God, “Oh, I’ll talk to you later, on my lunch break.” We are so busy doing all the things that we think will propel us ahead, that we neglect the One who made us.

Our #1 quest should be to chase after God, not just to find out our ultimate assignment in this life, but each day and for each thing that we are scheduled to do.  There comes a time when we need to put down the schedule and get away with God to find out what He has to say about our life and where we are headed.

I like what Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-30:

"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me--watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."
