Meet my Friend
Proverb 18:24(King James Version)
Proverb 18:24(King James Version)
24 ¶ A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
A brother is someone that we can call on for help and someone who will go to great lenghts to help when their family member is in need. A brother can be there when you are up and be there when you are down. A brother in blood will aid and assist you when you need it and be a support to you at various times in your life. During times of adversity you can call on a brother to be with you during opposition. Brothers will join forces to assist and protect the family and be there to offer support where it is needed.
Friends can exhibit the same qualities as brothers. They can be counted on to help us and go to great lengths to assist us when we need it. Friends will be with us when we are up and friends will be with us when we are down. But friends are human and can on occasion let us down. But the word says that there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. Who is this friend?
Let me introduce you to my friend. My friend came to visit us over 2000 years ago. He lived for 33 years on this earth. During that time He demonstrated a love for me that is unparalleled. He was love personified. He was full of love and full of compassion. When I met my friend several years ago He introduced me to His father and offered me eternal life. When I was down and out my friend helped me. When I was sick, my friend healed me. When my life was in turmoil my friend gave me peace. When I was in need my friend saw that my needs were met. Well I have known my friend many years now and He has never let me down.
My friend asked me to do something very important. He said he wanted me to introduce Him to others. He said to make sure that I told others about Him. So, if you don’t know Him, let me introduce you to Him. He is a very rich person! He is a King. In fact He is the King of King. His name is Jesus. He wants to be your friend. So since you now know Him. Invite him into your life today. Ask Him to come and take up residence with you. Don’t worry, He will not resist your invitation.
